About The Role
We are recruiting a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RCN or RGN with paediatric experience) to provide 1:1 complex care for a teenager with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Autism Spectrum Disorder. The client is non-mobile and requires clinical support for respiratory care, daily routines, and community involvement.
He enjoys gaming, engaging with others, and values care from professionals who are confident, fun, and know what they’re doing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal care
- Manual handling
- Administering routine and emergency medication
- Respiratory physiotherapy including cough assist and oral suctioning
- Ventilator awareness and monitoring
- Supporting non-verbal communication
- Managing occasional challenging behaviour
- Accompanying to college and hospital appointments
Unity Care Solutions provides complex clinical healthcare services to children and vulnerable adults within the comfort of their own homes.
You will work with a small number of our clients to provide dedicated and professional healthcare services. You will ideally have experience of working within community care.
Available shifts include
- Monday – 08:45 – 22:00
- Tuesday – 08:45 – 15:45
- Wednesday – 16:00 – 22:00
- Thursday 08:45 – 15:45
- Friday 08:45 – 22:00

To be successful, you will:
- RCN or RGN with paediatric care experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in paediatric complex care
- Confident in respiratory management and seizure/emergency protocols
- Able to build rapport through age-appropriate communication and interaction
- Comfortable working in both home and educational settings
- Hold active and unrestricted registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council
- Hold a full driving licence with access to your own vehicle
- Be able to commit to the minimum availability of shifts
- Hold the right to work in the UK. Please note that we are unable to offer VISA sponsorship.
