About The Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Healthcare Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a paediatric client with complex neurological and physical care needs. The child has complex care needs, resulting in visual impairment, global developmental delay, dysphagia, and reduced mobility due to low muscle tone and scoliosis. They are non-verbal, at high aspiration risk, and require ongoing support with feeding and respiratory care.

Despite their clinical needs, this is a sociable and engaging child who enjoys being around others, listening to music, and interacting with sensory toys and games. This role is ideal for a Healthcare Assistant who is confident working with children with high support needs and who enjoys creating a warm, playful environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal care
  • Manual handling and safe positioning
  • Medication administration
  • Enteral feeding (gastrostomy)
  • Use of nebulisers
  • Pressure area care
  • Supporting non-verbal communication
  • Encouraging sensory play and interaction

A full driving licence with access to your own vehicle is essential.

Unity Care Solutions provides complex clinical healthcare services to children and vulnerable adults within the comfort of their own homes.

You will work with a small number of our clients to provide dedicated and professional healthcare services.

Available shifts include:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Days and Evenings
  • 17:00 – 21:00

To be successful, you will:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in paediatric complex care
  • Skilled in gastrostomy feeding, nebuliser use, and pressure care
  • Confident working with non-verbal children
  • Playful, engaging, and calm under pressure
  • Respectful of family routines and cultural values
  • Hold a full driving licence with access to your own vehicle
  • Be able to commit to the minimum availability of shifts
  • Hold the right to work in the UK. Please note that we are unable to offer VISA sponsorship.
