About The Role
We are recruiting a warm, enthusiastic, and experienced Healthcare Assistant to provide 2:1 complex care for a young person with dysphagia, limited verbal communication, and seizure management needs. This role involves a combination of home-based care and supporting community access and outings.
The client enjoys musical animations, instrumental music, cinema trips, meals out, and travelling by train and bus. He benefits from a consistent routine, especially around evening settling, due to sleep difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal care
- Manual handling (wheelchair and hoist use)
- Administering routine and rescue medication
- Seizure monitoring and management
- Supporting non-verbal communication
- Promoting community access and social interaction
- Managing occasional challenging behaviour
- Supporting during mealtimes (monitoring due to dysphagia)
A full driving licence with access to your own vehicle is essential.

You will work with a small number of our clients to provide dedicated and professional healthcare services.
Available shifts include:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday

To be successful, you will:
- Minimum 6 months experience in complex paediatric care
- Confident working with non-verbal children and supporting communication
- Able to support mobility safely, including hoists and transfers
- Comfortable with behavioural support strategies
- Patient, engaging, and enjoys interactive play and social outings
- Able to follow structured routines, especially around evening care
- Hold a full driving licence with access to your own vehicle
- Be able to commit to the minimum availability of shifts
- Hold the right to work in the UK. Please note that we are unable to offer VISA sponsorship.
