Hours of work: Full time Monday – Friday
Work Location: Head office with regular travel to branch office locations. Candidates will be required to live within reasonable distance of our office location(s). Hybrid working may be considered.
Salary Range: £50,000 – £55,000 (DOE) plus bonus entitlement
About The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Business Development Manager to join our growing business. This is a brand-new role with the opportunity to shape and drive our expansion strategy.
We specialise in providing long-term, intensive, and complex clinical healthcare services to children and vulnerable adults within community settings. With established branches in Kent, Sussex, and Hampshire, and ambitious plans for further expansion, this is a unique opportunity to shape our growth strategy and make a tangible impact on the services we provide.
We are looking for a confident, strategic thinker with a proven track record in business development, who can build strong partnerships, identify new opportunities, and drive sustainable growth across the sector.
Duties will include:
- Work with our existing Branches and Registered Managers to pursue business development opportunities within current localities.
- Conduct robust and strategic market research and competitor analysis to identify development opportunities.
- Working closely with the senior leadership team on strategic projects, aligning workload with business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong links with social care and health commissioning authorities, purchasing commissioners, and other referrers to generate enquiries and referrals.
- Monitoring of the company’s business development pipeline through to admission, including tracking progress of referrals and ensuring proactive engagement to secure placements.
- Tendering and submitting bids for contractual frameworks with local authorities and NHS partners.
- Provide regular activity reports to the senior leadership team.
- Ensure all business development activities meet and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal requirements, environmental policies, and general duty of care.
- Representation of the company at community and industry events.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver commercial objectives.
- Working closely with internal Marketing functions to develop materials which support development objectives.
- Ensuring that business development projects are responsibly aligned with the company’s ethos and core values.

About You
You will have recent and demonstrable experience of:
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with commissioning groups
- Conducting comprehensive market research and competitor analysis to inform strategic decision-making and identify emerging opportunities
- Identifying and driving development projects and opportunities within health and social care
- Propelling business performance through strategic planning, innovation, and effective stakeholder engagement
- Leading successful tenders and bids for contracts with local authorities and NHS bodies
- Driving sustained revenue growth and profitability through effective business development strategies
You will also:
- Have experience of working within the same or similar role within health & social care, ideally specialising in complex community and/or clinical care
- Have ideally worked within a clinical role and may hold active registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council or equivalent
- Have strong networking, negotiation, and communication skills
- Have a full UK Driving Licence with relevant business insurances, and access to a vehicle
