About The Role
We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a young child with complex care needs affecting mobility, communication and overall development. The child is non-verbal, uses a wheelchair and requires assistance with daily routines, personal care, feeding and close monitoring throughout the day.
Support includes enteral feeding, medication administration, seizure awareness, and occasional oral suctioning, with full training provided. The child enjoys play, sensory activities, arts and crafts, music, story time, movement and time in the water, so we are
looking for someone who can combine clinical care with interactive, engaging support.
The ideal candidate will be patient, observant, confident with non-verbal communication and able to build a positive, trusting relationship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 personal care and assist with daily routines and safe mobility.
- Support with enteral feeding, medication administration and general clinical tasks (training provided).
- Monitor the child’s wellbeing, including seizure awareness and responding appropriately to any changes.
- Carry out oral suctioning, use nebulisers and follow respiratory care guidance when required.
- Communicate using non-verbal methods and recognise cues, behaviours and needs.
- Engage the child in play, sensory activities, music, stories, arts and crafts, and other stimulating interactions.
- Provide reassurance, patience and emotional support, including during moments of frustration or challenging behaviour.
- Maintain clear documentation and follow all safeguarding and clinical procedures.
A full driving licence with access to your own vehicle is desirable but not essential.
Unity Care Solutions provides complex clinical healthcare services to children and vulnerable adults within the comfort of their own homes.
You will work with a small number of our clients to provide dedicated and professional healthcare services.
Available shifts include:
- Days
- Monday (4 hours) to Saturday (10 hours)
