About The Role
We are looking for a caring and confident Healthcare Assistant to join a dedicated care team providing 1:1 support for a young child with a rare congenital syndrome affecting multiple systems, including the heart, central nervous system, feeding, growth, and development.
The child is non-verbal, visually impaired, and experiences prolonged seizures, requiring close monitoring and consistent, high-quality care. Feeding is supported both orally and via gastrostomy. Despite complex health needs, he is responsive, enjoys interactive play, and smiles often when engaged.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal care
- Manual handling
- Administering medication (including emergency seizure medication)
- Seizure monitoring and management
- Enteral feeding (gastrostomy)
- Supporting non-verbal communication
- Promoting sensory play and interaction
- Managing occasional challenging behaviour
A full driving licence with access to your own vehicle is essential.
Unity Care Solutions provides complex clinical healthcare services to children and vulnerable adults within the comfort of their own homes.
You will work with a small number of our clients to provide dedicated and professional healthcare services.
Available shifts include:
- Monday to Friday and one Sunday a month
- 14:00 18:00 & 10:00 – 18:00

To be successful, you will:
- Minimum 6 months experience in complex paediatric care
- Confident in seizure management and enteral feeding
- Able to engage positively with children through play and interaction
- Patient, intuitive, and confident in following clinical care plans
- Comfortable working closely with family in a home setting
- Hold a full driving licence with access to your own vehicle
- Be able to commit to the minimum availability of shifts
- Hold the right to work in the UK. Please note that we are unable to offer VISA sponsorship.
