About The Role
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Healthcare Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a teenager with a rare genetic condition that affects cognitive, speech, and motor development. The client is non-verbal, uses a wheelchair, and requires support with feeding, personal care, and daily interaction.
He is a lovely and expressive young person who enjoys watching TV, sensory play (such as foil blankets), and being spoken to. He thrives on routine, reassurance, and positive engagement from those around him.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal care and hygiene support
- Manual handling (wheelchair transfers)
- Medication administration
- Enteral feeding via gastrostomy (PEG)
- EpiPen use and anaphylaxis awareness
- Supporting non-verbal communication
- Encouraging play and sensory interaction
- Managing challenging behaviours calmly and appropriately
A full driving licence with access to your own vehicle is desirable but not essential.
Unity Care Solutions provides complex clinical healthcare services to children and vulnerable adults within the comfort of their own homes.
You will work with a small number of our clients to provide dedicated and professional healthcare services.

To be successful, you will:
- Minimum 6 months experience in complex care, including PEG feeding
- Confident supporting children or young people with learning and physical disabilities
- Able to engage positively with non-verbal communication
- Fun, patient, and calm under pressure
- Comfortable working closely with family in a home setting
- Experience with severe allergies and emergency medication administration is essential
- Be able to commit to the minimum availability of shifts
- Hold the right to work in the UK. Please note that we are unable to offer VISA sponsorship.
